The classroom environment in my classroom will be welcoming and comfortable for all students.
When my students enter my classroom they will see bright colors on the wall, pictures, charts, and natural sunshine beaming in from the window. The students’ desks will be arranged in cubes and they will be able to converse with one another at their desks. I believe that a warm friendly classroom environment is important to be able to engage students in learning. By having the students’ desks in cube of four, this will promote collaborative thinking and reflection discussion on lessons being taught. Students will be able to come in and see their assignments on the bulletin board. All students’ birthdays will be recognized on a bulletin board as well. Their name and birth date will be displayed on the bulletin board for the month. Students will feel important in my classroom. I will have a weekly show table for students recent projects to be displayed. One corner of the room will have comfy chairs and a bookshelf filled with social studies books. Students will be able to utilize this during silent reading time or research. I feel it is important for the student to have a cozy corner in the classroom where they can relax and not have to be in their desks all day.
